Celebrating Read Across America in PE

Reported by on 3/2/21

This week Builta Badgers are celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America. But the celebration is not limited to their homeroom. Miss Wills had K-1 students do several activities in PE. One activity asked students to figure out which word was missing from a Dr. Seuss quotation. Students shared the word they picked by doing an exercise. Another activity asked students, “This or That?”. For this activity, students were given a choice of two books, they picked the book they liked by doing an activity. For example, if they picked Green Eggs and Ham, they did front lunges, and if they picked Hop on Pop they did side lunges. In the third activity, students had to pick the correct rhyming word and then do the matching exercise. Finally, students had to dodge the mess the Cat in the Hat “threw” at them in The Cat in the Hat Fitness Activity. For more ways to continue the celebration, ask your students to check their Google Classroom.
